SNF NYJ @ LVR 11/12/23

Tonight’s Sunday Night Football game is a matchup that, unfortunately for us, was not flexed out of its prime time slot. We’ll see the 4-4 New York Jets fly into Las Vegas to face the vaunted 4-5 Raiders. Why the league didn’t give us the Lions and Chargers for tonight, I will never know, but alas there’s a game and we have to see if it holds value. There’s actually a couple of picks I like tonight, and I’m keeping it simple. Both of these defenses post lackluster numbers against the run, with each in the bottom 25% of teams in rushing yards allowed on a per game basis. For that reason, I like two different picks in tonight’s game.

Josh Jacobs over 16.5 rushing attempts -175

Interim head coach Antonio Pierce has not been shy about their plans to continue feeding their workhorse, and I see no reason why that wouldn’t continue tonight. Jacobs had 26 attempts last week in a nice win for the Raiders, and he’s had 17+ in five of his last seven games. The Jets allow the third fewest passing yards per contest, so the Raiders would do well to get it into Jacobs’ trusted hands and not rely on rookie Aidan O’Connell too heavily. You can feel fine paying the juice here, or if you’d rather, try and tease it up a bit for better odds.

Breece Hall over 67.5 rushing yards -115

The Raiders defense is allowing the second most rushing yards per game at 138.7, and has not improved as the season’s progressed. They allowed 90 to Saquon last week, 152 to Jahmyr Gibbs the week prior, and 89 to D’Onta Foreman the week before that. Breece will have plenty of opportunity to get into the second level tonight for some big gains.

As of this writing, I went 4/4 on the picks I posted for the afternoon games. I hope you tailed! I also parlayed these four lines plus Jacobs, just before these games started. JSN had gone up one yard, so i’ll need one more from him. I’m likely to hedge for some amount against Jacobs, because that parlay pays +2000 and it’s a clean hedge opportunity. I also placed a straight bet on Breece Hall’s over for two units.

As always, these are my thoughts and your picks are your own. Gamble responsibly, have fun, and good luck to us!
