This Sunday night we’ll see the Bears once again start rookie Tyson Bagent as Justin Fields continues to recover from a hand injury. The opposing Chargers are looking a bit depleted in the receiver room, with Mike Williams continued absence, Gerald Everett out, and others banged up. I’ve identified three picks I think look really solid tonight, and we’ll be using Caesar’s lines here as that’s what we’ll have access to soon in Maine.

Tyson Bagent over 18.5 completions -113

Bagent is completing over 72% of his passes as the Bears continue to keep the offense simple for him. He’s done well by taking what the defense gives him, and the Chargers have one of the worst pass defenses in the league. They’ve allowed at least 20 completions in every game so far, and over 320 yards per game. Which leads me to my next pick..

D.J. Moore over 55.5 receiving yards -117

Someone has to receive all of those yards, and while Bagent may not go off for 320 himself, he should be playing from behind and provide a healthy stream of targets to his best option, D.J. Moore. D.J. should be able to make more than one big play against this porous Chargers defense, so the over looks great. Both projection models I view predict over 70 yards for D.J.

Austin Ekeler over 32.5 receiving yards -119

The Bears are perhaps the worst defense in the league at containing opposing RBs in the passing game. They’re giving up 57 receiving yards per game to them, and Austin Ekeler is the best one they’ve faced yet (perhaps the league’s best). With the Chargers receiving room depleted, I expect Ekeler to get plenty of opportunities tonight to catch the ball in space and make some plays. The over looks great, this number should be closer to 40. 

My bet: Austin Ekeler o33.5 rec yds + Tyson Bagent o18.5 completions on Drafters
